Soran Schwartz is a lighting and projection designer based out of Los Angeles California. They grew up in the Pacific North West and received Their undergraduate degree from Southern Oregon University, located in the scenic town of Ashland Oregon. They relocated to southern California to get Their MFA at San Diego State University and moved north to LA post graduation for work.
Soran spent their first year in Los Angeles at Lux Machina, working in the exciting world of virtual production and live broadcast using all kinds of exciting technology; including the Unreal Engine, Disguise, Vive Pro and more. In 2022 they designed lights for Chance Theater, OpenFist Theater, and 66 Productions. After a brief touring stint as a video engineer for RightAngle Entertainment for the Masked Singer Live Tour, and Wheel of Fortune Live tour; and as a production electrician for the remount of the Broadway Cats tour with Troika entertainment. Now Soran is happy to be back in LA full time. Currently they are the Lighting Supervisor at the Younes and Soraya Performing Arts Center in Northridge, and enjoy freelancing as a lighting and video designer in theaters across LA.
Recently they Co Designed the lights for Brustroke, written by John Ross Bowie with fellow LA Lighting Designer Hayden Kirschbaum; were the Master Electrician for Starkid Production's Cinderella's Castle; and are the Lighting Designer for Happy Fall: A Queer Stunt Spectacular, produced by Rogue Artists Ensemble . They are always looking for new and exciting creative opportunities!
